Sigma 18-35 / f1.8 - Focussing issues solved (Canon 70D)?

Hi all,
I'm considering buying the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 after reading various raving reviews about the IQ of this lens. However, while double checking I found some not so raving reviews about autofocussing issues (both through viewfinder and LiveView) on the "newer" Canon crop sensor models, such as the 70D, which I own.
There have been several firmware updates this year, have any of these solved the focusing problems for the 70D? So far, I could only find topics indicating that this was the case for the 80D.
Would be a deal breaker if I had to spend many hours of MFA / calibration to get this lens to work on the 70D body, so any input is appreciated!
Thanks,
Jeroen
