As far as I can tell, the AF is the same as the M5.

Thank u Alan !:)
I just now happened upon this (mostly) four-month-old thread. An eye opener, as I've been thinking of buying an M50, with its superior AF, to complement my recently acquired M6, which I really like, except for its excessively loud shutter. (Reminds me of a firecracker detonation.)
Now I'm thinking maybe I could make do with an M100.
Can one of you M100 users answer the following questions:
a) What does the shutter sound like? How loud? (I own both an M1 and the M6, so comparisons with either of those bodies would be especially helpful to me.)
I have the M6 and the M100. The sounds are very similar, but I will not call it excessively loud. At least not as a firecracker detonation. LOL. I can guarantee it is nothing like that, because my dog is very afraid for firecrackers and runs hiding when they detonates. And no reaction from the dog when I shoot pictures. 😀
b) Is back button focus possible on the M100?
Yes it is possible. But the * button that can be assigned to AF is the same as the left direction button. So maybe not the best placement, but absolutely possible.
c) Is peak focus possible? And is there an option to select from more than one color when using peak focus?
Yes. In the settings you can select between red, yellow and blue.
d) One of the above respondents indicated the M100 AF was as good as that of the M5. But how does its AF compare to that of the M50, which currently offers the most advanced AF of the entire M series?
Sorry. I don't have the M50. (I will maybe get one later. But first I will wait and see what is announced in august/september.)
Thanks in advance.
No problem. 😀
