good day everyone
I need help on this as I am a little bit frustrated right now. I recently bought the Godox TT685C SPEEDLIGHT and have tried it by mounting it on my camera and it works pretty well. So I decided to start shooting off camera and bought a fairly used godox x1t-c from a friend to use with my speed light since it supports the 2.4GHz wireless system. I am able to connect both trigger and speed light together and it fires my speed light when I hit the test button but whenever I mount the trigger on my EOS 550D it doesn’t fire the flash. I noticed that in a way the speed light recognizes my camera because it brings the high speed sync signal whenever I take my shutter speed above 1/200s but it still won’t fire when I press my shutter. I encountered the same problem when I tried the trigger on the 60D but it worked perfectly well when I tried it on the 700D. Can anyone explain how I can make it work with my 550D please ?
It could be a compatibility issue. The 550D predates the X1. If you're using group mode, the X1 is compatible only with camera models from 2012 on. Check that the trigger has the latest firmware installed also.
You might want to post this question in the Studio and Lighting Technique forum. Someone there might have more information.
