There are always the doom-sayers when Sigma lens are mentioned,
Everyone should feel free to share there own experience, without becoming a this-sayer or that-sayer. Sorry, i don't like these kind of statements.
With all due respect your likes or dislikes are not really a concern of mine. I just call them how I see them, as do most of the other people here. If you are offended by remarks like this you may need to consider staying away from public forums which do express opinion.
People are interested in your experience with photography as a whole and camera gear is part of that.
Nobody is interested in your opinion in how you call people with another vision than you just because they have a vision others than yours, especially not in cases the vision of these people is based on a lot of reports from both users and well known reviewers.
It is a bad habit to call other people doomsayer. I is a worse habit to tell them to stay away when the say they don't like it. Why should they stay away because you can't behave well?
I have attempted to understand your unintelligible response but alas I had no luck. It is strange that you attempt to question my behaviour when as I have stated elsewhere the definition of the word "Doomsayer' is a person who predicts disaster. You probably need to read your postings in this thread to see if that applies to you.
I did not tell you to "stay away" as you assert, but not to labour the point, you seem very sensitive to any criticism of your posts and my suggestion was that a person with such a sensitive nature may find it better to avoid public forums like this.
Or perhaps you are just fishing by trailing a baited line along behind the boat?
I own 2 and have never had any issues.
It is just wonderful that you share your experience just like other share their experiences.
Thank you for the inspiring words, it is just as wonderful that you share your experiences as well.
I have the Sigma Dock but have never had to use it for any AF microadjustment.
Some noticed this lens can be inconsistent, in these cases a dock won't help.
Read my statement, I did not indicate that the dock would solve any AF inconsistency issues however it remains a great tool for AF micro adjustments and firmware updates. This year there has been two updates for my Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM.
The reviews on this lens have all been very positive.
As far it is about image quality >> yes. Talking about AF consistency using optical viewfinders, the majority of reviews are not positively. My personal experience was also not positive with this aspect of this lens.
With Live View AF it works fine on my 70D, and also on my M50.
I am sorry to hear that. I have not suffered from any OVF AF issues. If you are not on the latest firmware perhaps you should consider updating?
Cheers - Shane
