Shutter wear in particular. Shutters on DSLR or mirrorless cameras are most commonly rated somewhere between 50k and 100k releases which seems a lot but when doing timelapses you can easily get into those numbers. Like 2000 to 3000 pictures a day or 10000 or even more over the course of a week/month etc.

I know (or better I've read) that sometimes shutters are good for a lot more releases than what they are rated for but I'd rather save myself the cost of a shutter replacement if I can.. (had to do it once on my 5d and it did cost around 400$).

As far as using a phone.. could you suggest one that shoots around 20mp RAW and comes with an EF mount?
