Why do some cameras have a dpi setting and others don't?

I Think I Understand Now

My Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mkii has a dpi setting. The manual says "choose print setting."

Some people connect their camera to their printer and print directly from the camera. I don't do that, I print from my computer after post processing. But some people must print the pictures directly from their camera. As I recall now that I'm thinking about it, a lot of cameras that I've owned in the past had some settings that involved printing from the camera and in what sequence they would be printed.

To wrap this up, since I don't print from my camera I'm not going to worry about the dpi setting.

Thanks to those who commented in this thread. It got me thinking to where I believe I have found the answer to my question.
