Anyone here carry an "emergency camera?" what kind?

I always keep a camera in my car glove box within easy reach just in case something crazy/news worthy/incredible happens and it needs to be captured in pictures or videos.

The camera is a Canon SX720. It's a 20mp point and shoot camera with 40x optical zoom.

Why this model and why not just use your smartphone.. Ff you think about it. During times of excitement you don't want to fumble with your phone and draining the battery.

When something happens you want something that can zoom in to get close view and get the details (ex. the persons face) and enough MP to capture the detail. Say a speeding cars license plate or the writing on a plane. The SX720 is small so not to hog up the space in the car.

I carry it in my bag as I go about my daily business too.

Anyone here do something similar.. what model do you use and why?

"Emergency" might be the wrong word I guess more of a "always with you"

Canon PowerShot SX720 HS
