Re: Remote shooting with my phone

There are however some strong limitations to the Camera Connect app (both Android and iOS).

* It only transfers JPEGs
* Movies are downscaled to 720p30, download only
* Videos cannot be recorded remotely, even when stored on the camera only
* Many menu options are not accessible in remote shooting, including self timer and time lapses
* When mute enabled, it is ignored at remote shooting, the camera keeps making annoying beeping and crackling sound when taking pictures

So I never use remote shooting as it is too limited and I only use it sometimes when downloading JPEGs.
A better option for transferring it in original quality is buying a USB OTG adapter (a few $$, Android) or an SD card adapter ($30, iOS) and transferring it straight from the SD card to your device.
