Using a flash of any sort will make capturing photos of teeth very challenging.

Even in ambient light, highlights in teeth are very difficult to expose properly. An intra-oral cam at least allows you to move the constant light source around in the mouth so as to capture a good lighting angle, but a flash pulse originating from outside the patient's mouth won't be nearly as controllable, exposure-wise.
