Peak District (UK)...
The village of Castleton in the Derbyshire Peak District (UK), taken from the iron age fort at the summit of Mam Tor.
It's browner than normal due to there being a lack of rainfall and an uncharacteristic (for the UK) heat wave in progress at the moment and it doesn't really show the scale that was seen by the naked eye because I shot it @ 160mm in order to get just the village in the frame.
I used USM (30 - 70 - 0) to increase the localised contrast on this one to get rid of the atmospheric haze that was blighting the detail...
There were good views all round. This one was taken @ 120mm...
