AF problems a6300

Hi guys,

I'm noticing a strange AF behavior on my new a6300 paired with Sony 18-105/4.

I would randomly get missfocused images. Just slightly off. It is not noticeable in the EVF but clearly visible when opened in a computer. I would always get the green square confirmation that focus is OK, but it is not. This happens in about 2-5% images and I can't see any reason why. I'm pretty sure it is AF and not motion blur.

I changed focusing from "Balanced Emphasis" to "AF"  but that did not help. Both AF-C or AF-S modes do that.

Here is an example:

One image off ...

and then few seconds later ... all is good:

I refocused between the shots.

It's annoying since I have no clue how to predict when this happens. It is not like the camera struggles ... it usually happens under ideal situations ... lot of light, high contrast.

Any ideas? Is my camera/lens faulty or is this a "feature"? I'm new to mirrorless camera so maybe I have too high expectations.
