Are there photographic genre that are not artistic?

Would you consider forensic, documentary, or stock to be artistic photography? How about corporate headshots? Or a wedding shot list workflow? Food? Birding? I'm not saying these aren't, but I'm guessing some people might have an easier time saying they aren't. Maybe. I can appreciate a lot of professional endeavors in many fields that I maybe wouldn't call art, despite the skill at hand. Then there's others that I probably couldn't avoid calling art.

Is messing/removing color an automatic nod to artistry? How about softness or missed focus? Uncorrected aberrations? Doing weird stuff to contrast? Not that those things can't produce pleasing results. But maybe they're sometimes applied without really reaching a result I would call art. Or at least not good art... to me.

Not that I'm any authority anyway.
