Green Cay and Wakodahatchee Wetlands

I took a drive up to two of my favorite wetlands last Sunday to take a few wildlife shots. It was hot and very sunny between 10:30-2:30, so I really was not expecting to see as much wildlife as I did. I spend about 2 hours at each location & did two laps around each.

Below are a LOT of pictures, but there is a lot of variety in all of them.

My first shot of the day, I like the way the sun was shining on it.

A Great Blue heron

These Great Blue Herons were all panting and trying to stay cool in the sun.

A cattle egret with an interesting background.

A heron on its nest.

A night heron in the shade.

And now a few critters.

I tried to focus on his eye.

In the shade taking a nap, it was HOT out there.

He was trying to hide and did not want his picture taken.

A baby gator.

Well... I hope that was not too many pictures to put in one post, but I hope you liked a few of them. C&C or questions are always welcome.
