Need advice for a family photo shoot

My friends adopted a child this year and I wanted to do a family shoot for them for free since I'm not a professional by any means but more of a hobbyist. Some questions so I don't waste their time and hopefully end up with a few half-decent images to give them. I'm using a FUJI XT2 but am confused a bit about Focus Areas. Since I'm not shooting just one person, but two adults and one five year old child, I assume I can't do a small box for focus area. Do I do ZONE or WIDE TRACKING or ALL?

Also, I'll be doing this slightly before the golden hour because the shoot involves a child who can't be up too late. The sun will still be up, although slowly going down (630PM eastern time). Shooting with the sun behind my subjects, do I use SPOT or CENTRE-WEIGHTED?

And finally, there won't be a lot of movement in the shoot but will the 56mm f1.2 be too slow? There is a five year old child involved. Would I be better off with a 35mm f2 or 18-55 f2.8?

Thanks in advance for any advice. And also if you have any advice to make this go well, I'm a bit nervous and would like to do a good job.
