My M gripe

I've used the M system for some time, originally with an M, then an M3, and now an M6 (plus a full spectrum converted M body).
For me, it gives a great backup to my EOS system, plus allows me a travel kit covering all the options from superwide to tele. I don't care if they're not all fast primes, or even that they're not the very best lenses available; I have my main system for that. What I have is a small bag with a few tiny lenses and a body that produces perfectly good image quality for my needs.
So far, so good - but there is a snag. There's no consistent filter size. They're (pretty much) all different. Which is not very helpful...
I only really want to use a polariser, but  I either have to have several, or use stepping rings, which means I can't use the hoods, or else a square system - all of which rather goes against the idea of a really small system.
Oh well, that's off my chest now... but does it bother anyone else? At all?
