How (and why) to use a shift lens?
5

It's been fascinating to see the outbreak of interest in tilt and shift lenses here of late.

Whilst I've seen a lot about using tilt, I realised (after someone here asked me - thanks) that I'd never looked just at using lens shift.

As well as our Canon TS-E friends, I use adapters, such as for this 55mm Mamiya 645 lens

I've put together a few short video clips showing things like this basic use of shift

and what happens when you tilt the camera first and then add shift

A bit of the theory behind it...

and some examples of shift and stitching

Anyway, I've some more notes that cover all the ways I use shift on my DSLR and hope it's of some interest?

Keep those TS-E threads coming!
