Fujinon 16mm 1.4 - A good landscape lens?

I have a question for everyone....

I recently purchased a Fuji X-T20 and got a Fujinon 16mm 1.4 lens with it. I bought the 16mm as I am a landscape photographer and the wide angle, sharpness and low light performance seemed a perfect match for me! But I am wondering now if the 16mm is a good landscape lens?

Shooting at f8 everything seems to be sharp but when I focus manually I can’t get the peaking lines to cover everything and give me the biggest DOF possible? Is this lens still sharp at f11 and I should try that? Am I doing something stupidly wrong? Or is this lens more of a street photography, portrait, macro lens and not made for big landscapes?

Help and advice appreciated.
