Different tools for different purposes.  Instant documentation and sharing of what is happening: smart phones are excellent for that. But so far they cannot compete in image quality with even an older M4/3 camera. Just yesterday I was comparing IQ between images taken with my IPhone 6S Plus (with image stabilization) and my lowly and oldish EM10. I was going to an event and wanted to travel as light as possible. No contest. As soon as you import the IPhone picture into a post/processing program, you begin to notice the difference in noise, not to mention the ability to crop and other parameters. I still used my IPhone, but it was clear to me that IQ wise I was compromising. This is not surprising, though......What the future will hold, though, is anyone's guess. Anything is possible and even probable. But not yet....
