Red River Palo Duro Softgloss on P800 Color Issues

I recently bought some RR Palo Duro SG Rag. I so far have tried printing to my P800 using the RR profile for this paper. The prints are printing dark...even darker than what is shown when soft proofing out of LR. It is particularly noticable in the quarter tones to half tones, where details seem to get muddy.

I have been using Epson and Breathing Color papers and profiles with this printer with no issues. Before that I had an Epson 4900 for 5 years without significant color issues.

The temporary fix for this was to increase the exposure by about 1/3 stop and play with the contrast. I don't want to play that game however. Yes, monitors are calibrated, etc..

Tomorrow I plan to try the Canson and Epson Platine profiles with this paper. I do have a ColorMunki device but am leary of making paper profiles with such few color swatches.

Anyone else had issues with the RR profile for this paper?

Michael
