Photo Stacking?

I'm getting into real estate/architectural photography, and when shooting indoor scenes, I plan on taking several images at different exposures, then stack them together. I hope I'm on the right track with this. Looking up tutorials, they speak of focus stacking. Is the focus stacking technique in PSE and LR the same as stacking images of different exposures? Sorry, folks, I'm rather new to this. Taking real estate photography courses, they mention bracketing images at different exposures so that when you put them together, you will have the entire area, including what's outside the windows in proper exposure. Can someone clear this up for me please?

Thank you

Wayne
