Re: Architecture in Reflection

On a recent (and first) visit to Vancouver BC I noticed the distorted reflections rendered by the windows of the Vancouver Convention Centre.

After taking some image 'pairs' I noticed a sign which, to my delight, described how the distorted reflection was a deliberate design by the Convention Centre architect.

Pair #1. The Canada Place cruise-ship terminal

Pair #2. The Fairmont Waterfront

Pair #3. The Vancouver Lookout peeking from behind the Fairmont

Those tent shapes atop the building of Canada Place remind me of Richard Rodger's design for our Antwerp Court building (unveiled roughly a decade ago).

I like it when architects and sculptors take the environment in which their work will live, into account. Living space is a ... living thing.

You took full advantage of the possibilities offered here.
