Ok, let me see if I got this right.

A Zeiss Canon lens will work on Canon as well as Sony with an Adapter. Has Exif.

Yes.

A Zeiss Nikon lens will work on Nikon as well as Sony with an Adapter.

Yes.

A Zeiss Canon Mount will not work on Nikon.

Yes.

A Zeiss Sony E Mount will not work on Nikon or Canon.

Yes.

Not sure if Nikon Mount will work on Canon?

It's possible, but not easy.

Whew, this can make your head spin.

If you leave out the electronics and diaphragm control, it's really very simple:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flange_focal_distance

And the Zeiss Nomenclature is even more confusing.

And yet, you said this in your first post:

I am totally with Zeiss Nomenclature.

Maybe you meant something besides you're up on the Zeiss nomenclature. If so, what did you mean?

That was a typo: I should have said "I am totally clueless about Zeiss Nomenclature".

You have distagon, pentagon, sonnar, milvus, otus, loxia and what not, on top of that sometimes it says "distagon T* ZA" ... what's up with that.
