See the following images of wildlife scenarios at the „Beedener Brünnchen“-Lake in the state of Saarland, western Germany close to France. In this two-hour shooting session I was testing the EOS M5 with a long lens i.e. the EF 100-400mm, version 1, and I was in particular interested in testing some M5 settings in practice.
My findings are:
1) I still love the EF 100-400mm version 1’s push-pull mechanism which greatly supports quick object acquisition at 100mm and fast zooming-in towards 400mm in a split second.
2) That lens attached to the M5 represents a great combo which is easy to operate.
3) Operating the M5 autofocus in „Servo“ mode, „smooth zone AF“, in „low speed continuous“ drive mode and in Auto-ISO allows shooting of fast-moving objects quite nicely. Okay, my 5D Mark III can do even better but the M5 performs pretty good nevertheless.
Best regards,
Volker
