Re: Canon rebel SL2 or (200d) best lens for low light video?

First, you will want to use a lens with STM or Nano USM focusing to take advantage of the smooth DPAF auto focusing of the SL2 along with the silent focusing of these lenses. The exception is the EF 50mm STM as it can be a little noisy. Primes are good as many are f/2.8 or better. Zoom lenses are more problematic as there aren't any video friendly STM zooms with a large constant aperture. Having a constant aperture when shooting video keeps the scene from lighting or darkening when the focal length is changed quickly. Unfortunately, Canon does not make any STM or Nanon USM zooms with a constant aperture. I would recommend using the wider aperture primes to avoid this problem. Plus, they are reasonably priced.
