Thoughts on these photos please?

During my family trip to Channel Islands National park in June, I used my longest telephoto lens (EF 135mm f2 L USM) and an extender (1.4x II) for the wildlife there. Here are a couple that I thought were the best among all. Would like to hear thoughts from folks here. I am very green so please don't be too harsh, even though I'm here really to improve instead of showing off...

Island foxes on the islands were small, smart, and not afraid of people, which made shooting with 189mm focal length possible. For this one I decided to shoot wide open, but forgot to use AI Servo... So the focusing ended up a little challenging. I did sharpen it a little with lightroom and also increased the saturation. It was taken at about 3 pm on a very sunny day in southern California so all the photos seem a little pale.

And I also got lucky with a humpback whale appearing very very close to our boat back from the island. With the fast-moving and bumpy boat I thought shooting wide open would be too risky so turned aperture down to 4.0. Also I wasn't sure if AI Servo would be appropriate since many objects were moving. I also sharpened this one a little with LR but didn't touch saturation. I love SoCal's sapphire colored ocean water.

Thank you in advance for any comments or advice!
