Olympus lets you ISO your way

One of the many reasons I just love Olympus brand cameras, is that even my first PL1, and my latest OMD M5 II, have a gear menu where the person that wants to use Auto ISO in Manual mode can go, and select AUTO ISO ALL MODES, instead of the default setting where Auto ISO is only in P/S/A.

The creators of the camera, decided that most folks might never find the gear menu on the camera. And those that did, would like to be able to fully select their ISO and Shutter Speed, and Aperture, if the dial was set to Manual.

But for those folks that read on the internet, where other folks are searching for brands of cameras that allow Auto ISO in Manual, the owner of an Olympus camera, only has to search the Gear Menu for ISO, and he'll be able to put Auto ISO in the Manual mode.

I kind of feel a little bit sorry for the folks that haven't discovered Olympus cameras.

They also take video, for those rare times a person wants to make a camera into a movie camera.

I couldn't spell aperture, much less know what ISO was, until I bought that first Olympus Pen E-PL1 and started learning how to use it by digging around in Guy Parson's website, the owner's manual, and reading the wonderful little book, "PL-1 for Dummies" by Julia Adair King.

It seems to me, you can journey just as far with an Olympus camera, as you want to go.

Yesterday an Auto ISO setting helped me see the fan blade in the photos I took at the Shooter's Club.

Ready for company

Learning the game

Sighting in a .22 revolver

Heading out for home

Sighting in a rifle

Headed out for our home

Closing the gate

Looking Westward, headed home

And while I've owned many cameras, Olympus makes my ramblings just a little easier, thanks to all the automatic settings, like Auto ISO in all modes, if you select it.

And that's a blessing, you know?
