I'm going to send it off. It's 104 quid to repair either way it's a be edit than a dead camera. Hopefully they will send me a new model. Im going to advise my experience with the camera and the dodgy cable so maybe that will spur them on to making it right. I'll let you guys know.
Definitely a dodgy build, it will happened again for sure.

Hello People.
I have been given one of these broken.
For those that the cable has snapped, did any of you buy any cables of ebay?
The unit turns on but off without the cable being connected, i don't want to invest in a chinese flex cable to find it still doesnt work.
I opened my one up and the ribbon appears to be soldered to the LCD screen. The connector to the main board is also very fragile. I damaged it trying to pull it out.
If you are going to attempt the repair, I suggest dissembling it first and see if you can actually get to the cable before buying any parts.
When i was looking for parts at the time, the only thing i saw was the whole LCD assembly for about 100 USD.

I was going to sell my camera for parts, but I eventually sent it to Canon (from another members advice) who gave me a brand new M6 replacement.
