Spoiler: not a spider

I know spiders aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I always find them fascinating. In this period of the year the hills by some local lakes are filled with massive spiders the size of a hand, waiting for pretty much anything to end up in their umbrella-sized nets.

Unfortunately my longest lens is just the 70-300 L. Since these spiders prefer to build their nets far from hiking paths it often takes a lot of cropping to get a decent image. I reckon for this kind of spider I'd need something like a 150-600 or a 100-400 with multiplier, but since I don't need that kind of lens for work (indoor volleyball) I'll stick with the 70-300 L for a while.
