Presumably if he can afford a G1X III he can afford a RX100 VI which does seem a more attractive camera than the short zoom predecessors.

Still nothing around really to match my G1X Mk II lens so I will stick with that.

I think the OP really has missed the point in that the G1X III is a very experimental camera the size of a prime aps-c camera but with a handy extra zoom and putting it up against the fifth iteration of another camera is really chalk and cheese and he was obviously baffled by the fully articulating screen.

All that analysis done in 2 days also and it can take that long to find the single parameter you want in a Sony menu. A hasty and rushed check it in the return window sea of orange amateur near rant trashing review if ever there has been. The sort you usually see when someone buys a brand new camera the day before he leaves on a holiday which is completely ruined by the camera. I will reject this as a bit of an outlier.
