I set high ISO myself on my GX7, when I need fast shutter speeds in A mode for fast moving objects.

If you care about shutter speeds being fast enough to freeze subject motion, which may change from shot to shot, then why are you in A mode? Being in A mode ought to mean that you don't care what the shutter speed is.

Otherwise AutoISO would select a shutter speed / ISO combination according to the 1/FL (FL in FF equivalent) rule, i.e. at 25mm I get 1/50, at 100mm 1/200. This is not short enough to freeze motion.

So your particular camera will only use 1/(2 x FL) as the minimum shutter speed? You cannot choose a specific, faster shutter speed as the minimum? Yes that would be a limit on Auto-ISO - but of the particular implementation of Auto-ISO on you camera, not of Auto-ISO in general. I've used plenty of cameras that had Auto_ISO of some form, but none that I used failed to let you set a specific shutter speed as the minimum. In contrast, by first camera that had Auto-ISO would let me choose a specific speed, but would not provide an option to automatically set the limit to a function of focal length. That could be a pain with zoom lenses.

For flowers Auto settings are good enough, except if strong wind is blowing.
