What capabilities will the other supply that would justify the outright expense, and that the 330 absolutely cannot do for you? Answer those questions honestly and you'll derive your own answer.
I have the Canon and keep it with me most of the time. My cell phone in one special pocket on the right side of my walking shorts, and the Canon in the left counterpart. The modest zoom, but a fantastic 12 MP and processor make it as capable as larger and more costly cameras in my view. I know it will eventually wear out, and rue the day. Maybe cell phones will have replaced it by then. We can hope.....
You have "the Canon". The Canon 330 or the S100? There's really nothing I think is missing in my 330 except raw but I have my full frame cameras for that, ya know. I guess it's just a curiosity about sensor comparisons and actually having raw in a quality point and shoot.
As you can see from my username, I used to have too many Canons, like 15 of them in a drawer. I liked every one of them but time marches on and now I've just got the one 330. And five DSLRs. It sure does come in handy as a grab/get the shot quickly camera to always have in the car. I've never taken a pic with my phone and probably never will.
I don't understand your answer. This camera has raw with CHDK (as I remember and as stated above). So that's what I don't understand in your answer. If you want raw you can add it and if not that's fine too.
What am I missing?
