Thanks for this. It lead me to see there are four apps that I use online, associated with Google Drive. So i'ts okay to let Instant app install?

Do you know why it doesn't give me a choice other than cancelling it from installing on my phone?

Thanks for the help!

I was getting the nuisance notifications a few months ago, but have simply forgotten exactly what I did to disable them, without installing any of the Instant Apps. May have been along the lines of the linked Google info, but checking the Google Play app on my phone and tablet, under Settings / Use apps without installation / I have toggled "None". Again, don't remember doing it.

I can say I use Google Drive, Chromecast, Calendar and other Google services as well as a number of third party apps (Xplore file manager, aCalendar) I've granted access to Google Drive, Calendar, etc. and disabling the Instant Apps hasn't affected them at all.

(Note I only use a nonsense Gmail address, and never given Google credit card or other "real me" personal information, and have actively minimized data tracking using Google's privacy tools - I don't know how any of this affects users having fuller commercial relationships with Google services.)
