Re: Caution: Use the Canon LH-DC110 with the G1X III

"Well, I purchased the JJC hood filter adapter, which is identical to the Canon OEM (except 1/3 the price). As far as I'm concerned, they are worthless for using filters, at least a CPL. The filter threads are deep inside the hood. With a relatively low profile CPL filter, I cannot rotate the filter without completely obscuring the frame with my fingers (causing AF to go crazy, not to mention impossible to compose the shot, and also not to mention fingerprints on the filter).

I think I will try direct mounting the filter. And then if I need a hood, I will get a 37mm for the end of the filter..."

Saying the lens hood of the G1X III is unpractical for using filters would be the understatement on the century..;-)

Actually you don't need to get another hood: the hood has also a 37mm thread, so if there is a (very rare) shooting scenario which requires the hood, I screw the hood directly ON the filter (B+W X-Pro 37mm).
