The second pic is simply not good. The first I can't tell because I don't know the place and colors there. On my screen the ground looks purple. But again that maybe the real color there. The 15-45 I used had good color reproduction but was very, very soft at 45, not to say unsharp.

I used the Velvia film simulation which tends to have strong saturation which could count for the purple ground. But it brings out the greens and browns which I like. The only difference is the ISO which is 1600 for the second pic and 800 for the first. But surely 1600 couldn't account for the poor quality of the photo? Yes, the 15-45 does seem soft compared to the other lenses. Don't know what happened to the colour reproduction.

Will go back to the same place in the forest- it is my regular walk most days- and see if the colour can be improved on the 15-45. Will also bring my 16-50 and see how that performs. Of course the 60 has always been my preferred lens as well as the 35/1.4. But it would be nice to have a zoom that would be up to standard. Unfortunately I can't afford the XF zooms at the moment, and have to stick to the XC lenses. The 50-230 I find to be very good, especially for sharpness.

I find it quite easy to accidentally change the WB on the X-T100 via the right button of the multicontroller unless I lock it - not something I get with other bodies so just a quirk of the exact dimensions, layout and contours, I suppose. Do you think this might have happened to you?

Yes, that's exactly what happened! It wasn't the right button that got moved but the actually setting called the WB shift, a grid pattern of different shades of colour. I finally checked the auto WB settings and the WB shift had somehow gotten moved from the center way over to one side. Ruined a whole days shooting, but live and learn, I guess! How do you lock it?
