M50 and Tamron EF-M 18-200mm issue (Err 01)

Hi, yesterday i used my Tamron EF-M 18-200mm on my new EOS M50 and had some issues. I normally shoot in aperture priority and tend to use my lenses wide open so it took some time till I stumbled about this error.

As soon as I stop down the aperture (for example to F8) and press the shutter the camera takes the picture and immediately displays “Err 01”.

After powering the M50 off and on again everything functions as before.

As I took a drive on google about “Err 01” I found some who say “Err 01” is aperture-communication between camera and lens and could occur if apertureblades get stuck while taking a picture and don’t snap back in the “open” state. So I would guess the Tamron doesn’t report the aperture “open again” after taking a picture.

As I had my EOS M3 (already sold it after I got my M50) I send the lens to the Tamron service center for the necessary firmware update to get it working with my M3.

Can someone with a M50 and the Tamron EF-M 18-200mm reproduce the error and confirm or decline?

Thanks a lot.
