What is Wrong with the Exposure Triangle?

I am becoming a bit miffed/confused by a number of posts I've read dissing the whole concept of the exposure triangle. The only posters I've seen who actually explain why the concept is flawed, do so on the basis that ISO isn't changing exposure, it's changing brightness. I concede that, although to a beginner that might seem to be just simantics.

The ET concept was a lightbulb moment when I was learning photography - everything suddenly clicked into place. I understood it completely, and later when I started using flash, I was able to juggle the resulting "five sided triangle" in my head.

I have used the ET to explain the basics to friends and family who have just bought a camera and asked for help, and they too seem to suddenly "get" it.

So I don't see what is supposed to be so flawed about it.
