Olympus - Ultra Wide Angle PRO prime lens ?
1

Just curious, do people think we'll see Olympus put out a fast, ultra wide angle, rectilinear, PRO prime lens including filter thread (i.e no bulbous front element) ?

generally speaking, a focal length of less than 35mm (full frame) is considered 'wide angle', and anything less than 24mm (full frame) is considered 'ultra wide angle' ... so one could argue that the upcoming 12mm PRO is delivering what I'm asking for, the 8mm fisheye notwithstanding (bulbous, not optically rectilinear)

I have the 9-18mm 1:4-5.6
I never zoom past 9mm. I'd much prefer a fast, rectilinear PRO prime lens somewhere in the 7-9 mm region, with a flat front that has a filter thread.

are there technical or practical reasons why this is really unlikely to happen ?
