Wear on WACOM nibs?

I am thinking about getting a Wacom tablet for post-processing with Capture One Pro. Initially, at least, I expect to use it to mask parts of a picture for selectively processing just those parts. (I suspect that there are other uses as well.) I was thinking specifically about getting the Wacom CTL4100,  apparently the latest versioon of the small Intuos wireless graphic tablet. But I see a number of comments on Amazon about excessive wear on the nibs; as a consequence, some users say that they have to replace the nibs very often. I haven't seen any discussion of nib wear here on DPReview. Is this, for some reason, not an issue for post-processing photos? What sorts of experiences have Wacom users on the forum had? Thanks in advance.
