85mm f1.8 USM Chromatic Abberation (purple fringing)

Hi everyone.

I have been reading alot about this on the forums for the last two days.

Most threads I came across about this are from 2013 and earlier, So I just wanted

to know if there is a way that's more relevant to today to deal with the purple fringe.

On my 50mm 1.8 I have a correction profile for distoration and CA,

On my 85mm there's no profile. Is that just how it is or is there something that needs to be done with my camera? ( I shoot with an 80D. )

Does the in-camera lens correction really make a real difference?

I would love to hear some tips and ways to deal with this issue. I understand that nailing the focus wrong in narrow DOF situations can sometimes cause increased CA, if anyone could elaborate on that I would be glad.

I am really trying to love this lens but sometimes the amount of purple fringing is jaw dropping.

In this example, after taking the picture, I just looked at my LCD shocked, holding my head.

Canon EOS 80D
