Re: Olympus 12-100 f/4 vs 14-150 M2

I also recently purchased an EM1Mk2 and the 14-150 MZD. I purchased the lens for a specific event. When walking among the static displays at the local airshow before the main aerial events there are often unannounced flybys of interesting aircraft. The 14-42mm 4/3 kit lens works nicely for static displays but 42mm is worthless for the flybys. The 40-150mm 4/3 kit lens is useable for the flybys but is way too long for static displays. Flybys happen way too quickly to swap lenses hence my selection of the 14-150mm.

I've used the combo less than a week to date and this year is not an airshow year. My impressions and informal testing suggest that the central image is sharp enough for my purposes. I really like its quick focusing. I also purchased the MM3 adapter so I can use my 4/3 14-42 and 40-150 lenses when I need more resolution. Those 2 lenses focus much faster on the EM1Mk2 than they did on my E620.  The sharp 50mm f2 macro even focuses faster the new camera.

Your corner tests are about what I'd expect from what I've done to date.

Your mileage may vary.
