I struggle to comprehend the amount of work required to perform that process to a stereo PAIR without inducing obvious retinal rivalries and other stereo artifacts. Some elements in the pair would be treated identically in left and right views, while others would not be identical.

Just cloning the backgrounds in and of itself would produce obvious artifacts in a stereo image (unless they are at infinity, or better, featureless).

Not that it can't be done, but, Ouch!

That was my concern, @Turbguy. I never got hold of anyone who has made an attempt at this complex process. But I am going to give it a try. Will keep you posted if at all I make it through.
