Photos of Ely Cathedral

Yesterday (18th June) I visited Ely, (in Cambridgeshire, UK), and spent about 6 hours taking photos outside and inside (and on the roof) of the stunning cathedral.

Its history is very long and complicated. I can't easily summarise it, so here are links to the details:

I'll show some photos of it in my replies to this initial post.

Within the cathedral is a fascinating Stained Glass Museum . I'll show some examples of the exhibits.

First, a couple of introductory photos. I couldn't find a view that showed the scale of the cathedral. I want to photography it from the air, (from a de Havilland Dragon Rapide), when I can book a flight at a convenient date.

One limited view of the cathedral.

One of very many examples of stained glass in the museum.

A number of replies with more photos will follow ....
