I bought a Canon Power Shot SX530 and am trying to learn how to use it...read it is best to take it off manual and learn it that way...tried it yesterday with 1 or 2 ok photo's taken and some pretty darn bad ones...I am still trying to understand all this photo terminology. Hope to learn here and bare with me with what may seem like stupid questions.

Thank you

One thing worth checking to get the best quality pictures is to make sure you are using in the Function set menu selected by pressing the button in the centre of the dial on the back : L (large) for image resolution (rather than M1, M2 or S) and below this is the next selection in the menu Super Fine for compression which is a quadrant symbol with an S in it to give the most detailed images.

Also ensure both ISO is Auto and WB are auto until you are happy with changing these options. Accidentally selecting a high ISO without realising it has ruined many an image for many of us.
