No question the XT1 isn’t getting any more of those (aside from any necessary bug fixes or lens compatibility updates

This is what important for me.

Even the X-Pro1 from 2012 got an update as recently as last November to add compatibility for the XF80mm. The last XT1 update in December added support for the Instax SP3. It’s always in Fuji’s interests to keep these older bodies compatible with their latest products, otherwise it could cost them lens and accessory sales of course.

I also remember a while back when a Windows 10 update introduced a USB connection problem, Fuji were pretty quick to update the entire range to fix the bug. They don’t abandon the older gear.

Older bodies will still likely get updates to make them comparable with new lenses etc. but I doubt that new functionality or software improvements will become available. Hard for me to understand why this would be a problem? The older cameras work great and I can't see any firmware improvements that I would be interested in at this point.
