Varnishing: Spray vs. Roller

Thinking about this for canvas and fine-art rag papers. I have the capability to do both methods for prints ranging up to very large size (40x60 inches on canvas, for example). I've long used Glamour II and HVLP sprayed, but may switch to Timeless.

The downside of spraying is the time required to set up then thoroughly clean the equipment when done. And, of course, the air compressor is noisy. Spraying is a hassle when not producing a large quantity of prints. With a foam roller, I can simply toss it when done.

Also, from a purely qualitative and longevity perspective (ignoring the "hassle factor"), I'm wondering which produces the better result. Thanks for your opinions.
