Re: Mirrorless - how size/weight saving benefitted you?

I got a Panasonic GX85 w/ two lenses, spare battery, card and polarizer filter. It all fits into a tiny case I once used for my Nikon 1 gear. The total weight is 900g. Equivalent focal length of lenses covers me from 24mm to 300mm.

Yes there are limitations to a smaller sensor, but size and weight isn't one of them. I'm quite happy with the overall image quality from the micro four thirds sensor. I'm not a pro photog either.

My first foray into mirrorless was with the Nikon N1 system that was even smaller still. It was perfect for what I wanted. Of course, Nikon discontinued it, had a limited lens lineup and had some lens QC problems. I recently decided to try MFT.

DSLRs do have their benefits, but I just don't want to lug gear around anymore.
