Don't write off the Nikon D7500 live view until you've tried an AF-P lens on it.

The AF-P lenses are way better than the old VRII lenses in terms of focus speed, racking back and forth, and focusing noise.

I have not liked shooting videos on Nikon DSLRs in the past, unless I can focus before recording, and just leave it during the video.

With the AF-P lenses, I don't mind so much changing focusing point while recording. You still see a slight racking movement, but nothing as disruptive as the racking back and forth from other lenses, and you can't hear the lens focusing noise at all, it is that quiet.
