I doubt my 18-55.   At times I think it's outstanding, but then when failures arise I can't clearly attribute them to the lens, camera, or technique.   I don't have such doubts about any other lens I have, otherwise.    So I use mine here and there, just to see, but I have no confidence in it.

For you to have confidence in yours, expect wide open at either end of the zoom range not to be at its best.   Be sure your focus area won't pick up background elements, and give OIS with a 1/2 press of the shutter a moment to settle in before the full squeeze of the shutter to get the exposure.
