I've collected ancients for a long time.  DO NOT clean them!!!  Not only will it tremendously hurt any value, it will probably damage them and perhaps even encourage bronze disease.  Even if they're slugs, leave them be.  Leave any cleaning to the professionals (who do it only when it comes out of the ground, or there's bronze disease).

I'm a newbie at advanced photography, however, I'd love to be able to photograph coins (and record labels).
