That is the funniest thing. You get a new cam, it is 26 december and you like to try it. You think "I don't quite get this?" The you look for a book. And there is none. You need a PC or phone and download it...Great. With my GH4 I at least had a book.
Second point: OP never ever had to read a book for his GH4 in the first place bar one thing...Setting the frequency of the cam, which is needed and not clear. That is it. Setting customsettings etcetcetc...never needed a book.
With Oly I seem to need to understand that a heart means this and a diamondkind of icon means something else. With Oly I need to understand that under some circumstances the tocuhscreen just doesn't work while at some times you need to set it so you can then make it work. time and time again. And when you change a setting in SCP you need to restart the SCP if you wanted to change more than one setting. Etcetc.
So to some it seems logical and easy and for me not. Another one: my cam is now in 4K flat mode....I have no clue how to get it out of that mode. Just not even a hint by gping through the menu. The SCP is not the way, there is no other option there...Great!
I can certainly understand your frustration, jorginho, and Olympus ddoes indeed deserve some blame. However, as a long-time Olympus user, I was a bit shocked to find myself pretty frustrated with Panasonic when I got my G85, and had to hunt for how to get out of multiple exposure mode (three shots when I only wanted one) of to format a card (one thin Olympus does make -almost too - easy. Based on a few tries of the EM1ii and the GH5, I'd assumed the G85's GUI and menus would be easier and more intuitive.
All the time, cumulative, bulb and composite modes Olympus offers are indeed wonderful innovations, and have already given me a few wonderful pictures. Figuring out and controlling them is another matter and has given me may useless shots, and a temptation to hurl the camera into the dark, too.
But let's all try and remember that shoehorning all these features into a tiny camera with only a dozen or two physical controls is not easy. I did teach technical writing at colleges and have also translated manuals and technical materials. Yes, it could probably be done better - Olympus badly needs to do a complete overhaul. And NO, it will not be easy, as a few dozen functions and options have become a few hundred!
